Dead or Alive 5 Plus is looking to bring cross-platform functionality to the kind of level players on both Vita and Playstation 3 can be excited about. Team Ninja has confirmed that it will include two features to make the portable port an effective extension of the game, rather than simply an alternative with the same mechanics.
First of all, the game will support playability between the two systems. Someone playing online on their Vita will be able to fight against opponents playing on PS3 while console users can square off against anyone on the handheld version, even going so far as to allow challenges to be made between the two games in the same manner as is presently possible over Playstation Network.
Secondly, the game’s DLC will be directly usable in both versions of the game, no matter which version it is actually paid for on. As an obvious example, this means pre-order DLC outfits from the PS3 version will be usable on a person’s Vita as well.
Dead or Alive 5 Plus releases on March 19, 2013, so brush up on your counters and stun breaks.
