Dragon Age: Inquisition runs at 1080p on PS4, 900p on Xbox One

BioWare announces that the next Dragon Age will run at 1080p on PS4 and 900 on Xbox One, saying that they're taking advantage of each console's power at this point.

It’s been confirmed that Dragon Age: Inquisition will be running at 1080p on PlayStation 4 and just 900p on Xbox One.  BioWare took to Twitter following rumors floating around the internet and confirmed the difference on Dragon Age’s official Twitter account.

There’s no question that the tweet was a subtle dig at Ubisoft when they announced earlier this week that Assassin’s Creed Unity was capped at 900p on both the PS4 and Xbox One.

Why limit capabilities to tame the console debate?

BioWare did the right thing in making Dragon Age: Inquisition maximize “the current potential of each platform.” If it’s there to use, why not use it? It’s stupid to limit the capabilities of one port because a company didn’t want to ignite debate.

Guess what? The console wars are going to continue regardless. The debate between PS4 and Xbox One started years ago. Ubisoft refuted the comments when ACU senior producer Vincent Pontbriand said he chose the wrong words when talking about the differences and they wouldn’t purposely limit the capability of one port.

We’ll learn a lot more when both games come out and find out what the benchmarks are in frame rate. What are your thoughts on BioWare utilizing the full potential of both consoles while it looks like Ubisoft didn’t?
