The first Dragon’s Dogma 2 trailer was revealed during the 2023 PlayStation Showcase, giving fans of the franchise their first real look at the game that was announced by Capcom in 2022. Though no release date was provided, the highly anticipated game will be available on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.
Continuing with the RPG-centered gameplay, combat and story elements are interlaced throughout the trailer. The dragon calls to you, issuing an age-old challenge. In addition to getting your heart back and defeating the dragon, the plot seems to revolve around whether or not you’re actually the Arisen, as well as the Sovran of Vermud.
There also appears to be a connection between the dragon and the Kingly figure at the end. Whatever the story, it’ll be steeped with intrigue, much like the first.
The Dragon’s Dogma 2 trailer highlights the various areas of Gransys, from the woods to a fortified castle, highlighting the elevated beauty of the world. Throughout, you can see various creatures, such as griffins, a Medusa, and a sphynx. It hasn’t been confirmed if Dragon’s Dogma 2 will still be an open-world game, but with so many different areas showcased in the reveal trailer, it’s likely to be the case.
