After 176 games played in 11 days, Evil Geniuses from North Amercia wonThe International Dota 2 2015 Championships.
In a brutal clash of two amazing teams from North America and China, the best-of-five Grand Final match finished as 3-1. Evil Geniuses took home $6,616,014 and won the lovely Aegis.
Fans got what they wish for in this West vs. East faceoff: North American team Evil Geniuses taking on the “dark horse” from China CDEC, who entered the tournament as the Wild Card entry and ended up in the Grand Finals.
After a 1 game deficit, CDEC unleashed its split-push strategy and won game 2. In games 3 and 4, Evil Geniuses overwhelmed CDEC, as they beat the Chinese team with an almost identical strategy.
Past Dota 2 Champions Newbee (TI4), Invictus Gaming (TI2), and Natus Vincere (TI1) were elimanated from Main Event Bracket, while TI3 winner Alliance didn’t even make it through qualifiers.
These teams aren’t going home empty-handed, though. TI5 had the largest prize pool in eSports history, and its rewards will be distributed among teams as follows:
