In September of this year, there will be a new turn-based RPG on the scene. Norway-based indie developers, Snowcastle Games, and SOEDECSO Publishing are set to release their first major title Earthlock: Festival of Magic on PS4, Xbox One and PC. The game is an homage to the 3D RPGs of the past and aims to rejuvenate the genre with an element of Scandinavian storytelling.

You are following a young scavenger called Amon as he journeys across the world of Umbra. He must make new allies and face numerous enemies on a quest to find out why the beautiful (yet unforgiving) world stopping spinning many moons ago.

As with any good RPG, you get to customize your character every step of the way with an in-depth talent tree system that combines both skill points and equipment. The game also introduces a new combat mechanic which allows you to kite your enemies into groups, making it possible to decide how many you want your team to take on at any one time.

There are no random combat encounters, and the more enemies you take on at once, the more experience you gain. You can also create battle bonds between characters which reward pairings with new combat perks.

Earthlock: Festival of Magic will be available both digitally and in hard copy from retailers this Autumn. Prices are yet to be confirmed.
