Every year, the charity Extra Life holds a 24-hour gaming marathon to raise money for Children’s Miracle Network hospitals. Gamers from around the world will come together on November 5th to participate in the marathon and raise money for their local hospitals.
This year, GameSkinny Journalism Training Program veteran Brandon Hart will be participating in the marathon for his 4th year. He is hoping to raise $1,000 for Connecticut Children’s Medical Center. Currently, Brandon has raised $135 of that $1,000 goal.
In total, Extra Life’s many marathons have raised over $20 million for CMN hospitals since they were founded in 2008. Notable backers of the charity marathon include Rooster Teeth, Giant Bomb, and Reddit — but anyone is able to participate in the event.
Participants in the marathon are not limited to just video games, though. Extra Life encourages any kind of gaming to be done during the marathon. Board games, card games, and even tabletop games can be played for the event.
If anyone wants to participate in the event, you can sign up on their website. If you wish to donate to Brandon’s page, you can find it here. To show your support, you can also tune into his stream, starting at 7 am EST on November 5th.
