Dead or Alive 5 fans are finally going to be getting a new feature in the game’s “Ver. 1.03” update. Now not only will it be possible to record matches, players will also be able to directly upload those recorded matches to the internet, most notably to Youtube (if you’re using the Playstation 3 version) and Facebook (PS3 or 360 versions of the game).
This is big news for the competitive fighting community, as it means that anyone can have an online record of their matches, regardless of their technical know-how or available hardware. Making it possible for anyone to upload memorable moments or potential glitches is an easy way for the community in general to keep an eye out for bugs or new strategies with the various characters that might be discovered in casual play.
Team Ninja also announced that with the update players will be able to search for game lobbies based on their connection, a godsend for some players for whom great amounts of lag simply is not worth the effort, and that the game’s ‘throwdowns’ will now be added to their Ranked matches, enabling riskier challenges to be thrown about.
While the test footage of the direct upload is in 360p, the feature itself is still exciting, though Team Ninja did hint that the update will include at least a few tweaks in the actual gameplay.
The Dead or Alive 5 update does not have a date yet, but it’s coming soon.
