No longer do Android users need to watch their iOS friends game out on Fallout Shelter, wishing to be able to do the same. The game is now available in the Google Play Store, updated version 1.1!

For 18 years, Bethesda Software‘s Fallout has slowly made its way into our daily routines, starting its life on PC before finding a way onto PlayStation and Xbox. It came as a surprise when the developer announced Fallout Shelter on iOS during this year’s E3, and the game was released that very same day.

The game was not expected to be a huge success, but following the popularity of Fallout Shelter in the App Store, Bethesda quickly announced the game’s release on Android as well.

For those of you who are squinting at the screen going “Fallout Shelter? What’s that?” – here is a quick explanation of the game: you create and control a shelter through different rooms, the character’s jobs and equipment, as well as exploration missions of the dangerous outside world. Your goal: protect the shelter you’ve created.

The Play Store version of the game has been released with a few new features that will be transferred onto the iOS version as well. These include new enemies that gamers will face as well as a helpful robot named Mister Handy, who will be able to help out by automatically picking up resources.

It’s a nice distraction while waiting (impatiently) for Fallout 4‘s release on November 10th.
