With E3 approaching ever so quickly, we were bound to hear things about new games sooner or later. Disney Interactive, the studio behind games such as Epic Mickey and Tron Evolution, has revealed that they are making a new dance game for the Xbox One called Fantasia: Music Evolved.
In the game, players will assume the role of Mickey the Sorcerer from the 1940’s Fantasia movie. Like the widely successful Dance Central for the Xbox 360, Fantasia: Music Evolved will be controlled entirely through the new Kinect that will ship with every Xbox One console. According to Forbes, the game will feature 25 songs from pop sensation Bruno Mars to the classic rock group Queen. More songs will be added later through DLC. Here are some of the songs confirmed so far:
Queen- “Bohemian Rhapsody”
Kimbra- “Settle Down”
AVICII- “Levels”
Fun. – “Some Nights”
Bruno Mars – “Locked Out of Heaven”
The game is slated to release sometime in 2014 and is expected to be officially revealed at E3. Whether this is one of the 15 exclusive IPs that the Xbox One team talked about during their reveal two weeks ago is anybody’s guess.
However, with the Kinect being such an important piece of technology for Microsoft, and the fact that the Xbox One has moved from being gaming centric to having a family entertainment focus, one can only wonder if the rest of the game reveals will be similar to this–or are we able to expect more reveals with the hardcore gamer in mind besides the newest Call of Duty and Fable?
