At E3, Square Enix showed the first official gameplay of Final Fantasy XII: The Zodiac Age. The PlayStation 4 HD remaster will feature a number of new additions from its original release.
During the demo, some features were discussed — for example, it was revealed that the game will feature two game speeds. Speeds can be either 2 times as fast or 4 times as fast. The intent of these higher speeds is to cut down the time for players as they explore and gather experience points, as this was quite the time consumer when playing the original game.
Another feature is that the map can overlay with the gameplay ,and players won’t need to access another menu to get their bearings. Load times are also much faster and hardly noticeable. The final product will include an auto save feature as well. Any game overs will allow you to start from your last autosave.
The new soundtrack will be true surround sound, remastered for the game with the addition of new songs. Dual audio will be an available option as well. Players will be able to choose between English and Japanese voice acting.
Final Fantasy XII: The Zodiac Age will be released for the PlayStation 4 in 2017.
