The deal was formed between Canadian broadcaster Super Channel and GINX eSports TV. The channel is expected to provide enthusiasts and players content such as live events, news, and gaming lifestyle programming.

This new channel will be part of Super Channel’s four channels, and will launch across Canada this Spring/Summer. Upon launch it will be available to all Super Channel subscribers. (New customers can subscribe via their cable, satellite, or IPTV provider.)
As noted by GINX eSportsTV CEO Michiel Bakker:
Together with Super Channel we have the right combination of reach, relationships and local programming to create a channel that will bring the best of global eSports to Canada and equally to enrich our international channels with programming from the vibrant Canadian eSports community.”
Competitive gaming is readily available via streaming service and so forth. However, this channel will be the first fully dedicated televised broadcast of competitive gaming for 24 hours.
Given the rising popularity of eSports, only time will tell if this is just the first of many dedicated channels.
