The time has finally come — the moment when you can turn your Xbox One on and start downloading mods for Fallout 4. For more info on the release read on, or check out our 5 Best Fallout 4 Console Mods.
You boot up your system, update the game, start it up and see that new menu option: “mods”. You select it and are greeted with a sign-in for Bethesda.net. The screen changes and you become excited with anticipation — you wait and wait and wait. Then the screen flashes back and says “Could not log into Bethesda.net” or “Session has timed out”.
For thousands of gamers who had been waiting with anticipation to download mods, this is what they were greeted with. The mods launched at about noon on May 31st, and the launch was swamped with issues. No one was able to connect to the server to begin downloading mods or to look at the list of mods they had favorited prior to launch.
Bethesda quickly took to Twitter to tell fans about the issue and to “Please stand by”.
We’re currently experiencing intermittent issues with https://t.co/lLR3Nr6GJf. We’re working on a solution. Thank you for your patience.

Maybe there is a reason mods have never come to console before?
Many people were actually ok with the wait, stating that Bethesda should take their time and just make sure everything works. At around 10pm that night, mods were finally back online.
Mods are now available to download by launching Fallout 4 on your Xbox One or by going to Bethesda.net and adding mods to your library. Visit the GameSkinny 5 Best Fallout Console Mods to find a selection.
