Phantasy Star Online 2's first big update of 2021 introduces a new class and plenty of extras on the side.

Luster, the new Scion class headlines PSO 2‘s content update. Luster uses Gunblades in three different styles, depending on the weapon’s element.

Zandi is a speed and AoE focused style activated by Wind and Lightning elements. Fomel prioritizes heavy melee combat and ramps up with Fire and Dark elements, and Baran, activated with Ice or Light, works best for defense and ranged attacks.

Luster also comes with four unique skills highlighting the class’ diversity, but players need to reach level 75 on at least two classes before Luster unlocks.

If that sounds troublesome, Phantasy Star Online 2‘s new update offers some additional ways to level up. There’s a new story quest and new mission quests, higher difficulties for Urgent Quests, plus Extreme Quests and an accompanying Extreme Pass.

The Phantasy Star Online 2 update is free and live now on PC and Xbox One/Xbox Series X|S.
