It’s five o’clock somewhere. For former THQ employees, however, today’s quittin’ time will be less about sipping adult libations, and more about clearing out their desks.
…which could lead to a little sippy-sippy, I suppose.
At THQ headquarters in Aguora Hills, California, even prez Jason Rubin is clearing out, as shown in a picture he tweeted yesterday.
Not leaving @thq without my personal effects. For the record, still #notembarrased @volitioninc twitter.com/Jason_Rubin/st…

A memo to employees also says that most benefits will end today. Health insurance will extend at least until the end of the month.
The status of any severance package is still up in the air.
“We are actively working with the Creditors’ Committee and as soon as we have an answer, we will send out a separate communication.”
THQ will not offer any transitional assistance for those yet to be picked up by other firms, but will forward contact information to recruiters.
The defunct publisher will still retain a “small number of headquarters staff beyond January 25 to assist with the transition,” as remaining assets are sold off.
