Fortnite Player Discovers Chains of Hades Are the New Best Way to Fish

Believe it or not, the Chains of Hades are helpful for more than just fighting!

The Chains of Hades, like Zeus’ Thunderbolts, is a new weapon in Fortnite Myths & Mortals. Besides decimating opponents, one player also discovered it can be used to catch fish! Surprisingly, it may be one of the best ways to fish in the game right now.

The Reddit user and Fortnite player Elegant_Magician_875 posted their discovery of the Chains of Hades as a video. This video reveals just how well the Chains pull in fish from fishing spots. Rather than waiting for the fish to bite as you would with a fishing pole, it works more like the Harpoon gun. It catches fish instantly and pulls them toward you on land.

Previously, the best method to collect fish was blowing them out of the water using explosives like EMPs or Cluster Clingers. But even before explosives, the Harpoon was the go-to method because it was much faster than the fishing pole. Funnily enough, the Chains of Hades work very similarly to the Harpoon gun in mechanics.

Meant to be a weapon, the Chains of Hades pulls players in but with even more speed than the Harpoon. Players can hold the pull option to wind up and toss the Chains forward, then pull it back to draw their target toward them. These techniques obviously excel at catching fish as well. You can wind up and toss the Chains into a fishing spot to grab a fish instantly. Its speed allows you to empty a fishing spot in three simple pulls of the whip.

Whether you collect the Chains of Hades from defeating Hades himself or as loot, you can put them to good use fishing for enemies or fishing for food! Fish make excellent healing or shield items, and the Chains will make it even easier to collect them when needed.
