You know those dual monitors you have, or if you’re one of the super gamers, the three  monitor set-up? Those are a thing of the past. What’s hot now is the Oculus Rift.

So if you want to use this 3D headset for a computer, what are the system requirements? First and foremost, the Oculus Rift’s video input is DVI but you can convert it to HDMI using an adapter.  Note: this will not affect the performance of the device. VGA is not supported. As for your computer specifications, not to worry, developers say that any “gaming computer” is suitable. Of course, the higher the specs, the better the experience, so save up!

For now, the Oculus Rift is only available for PC, but developers are working hard to make it available for consoles, mobile devices and Ouya. Be patient, console gamers! It’ll be worth the wait.

Alright, so you can only experience this incredible 3D technology on PC, but what games can you play? Well, Castlevania: Lords of Shadow 2 is coming out on PC, XBox 360 and PlayStation 3, so you can experience the world of vampires up close and personal with the Oculus Rift.

Truly a classic, Castlevania first came out in 1987 and it’s come a long way since then, even making it to the 3D virtual reality world!

Dave Cox, producer, is really excited about the launch and posted a Tweet.

“Walking around Dracula’s throne room! Amazeballs #oculusrift”

Can’t wait to try this headset out? You can pre-order the development kit and it will ship out in August, but the date of the consumer product’s release is unknown. The price of the development kit is $300 USD and the consumer product price is yet to be revealed. You may want to read the FAQs on the developers’ website first though.
