Ghostwire Tokyo Conjures Xbox Series X|S Release, Update For All Platforms

Tango Gameworks' supernatural open-world game is heading to Xbox Series X|S and Game Pass with a new game mode and more.

Tango Gamesworks’ supernatural open-world game Ghostwire Tokyo is finally heading to Xbox Series X|S after one year of exclusivity on PS5. Launching on April 12, 2023, with a release on Game Pass, you’ll find not only the base game and its detailed recreation of Tokyo available, but new content in the form of the Spider’s Thread game mode.

Spider’s Thread, which will be available for PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S, tasks you with navigating a 30-stage gauntlet with a simple goal: reach the end. In a semi-roguelike mode, you’ll tackle stages randomly from a selection of 120 hand-crafted levels, unlocking new skills as you progress.

The Spider’s Thread update also brings new areas to the main Ghostwire Tokyo game, including an explorable Middle School, with new sidequests and some extended cutscenes giving extra insight into Akito and KK’s adventure through a haunted Tokyo.

Lastly, Spider’s Thread will include a few extra enemies to deal with. These include the invisible “Silent Gaze” and a monster called “Retribution.” Defeating these foes will grant you new power-ups that should come in handy for the main game’s boss encounters.

Ghostwire Tokyo is currently available on PC and PS5. It will be hitting Xbox Series X|S and Game Pass on April 12, 2023.
