While Supermassive Games, the developer of Until Dawn, has yet to release official details for the patch on their website’s FAQ,  the update does include:

  • Fixes to prevent the progression blockage that occurred in Episode 9 (this includes a fix for previous save games with the issue)
  • Option for inverting the Y axis in the settings menu
  • Fixes for unlocking “Ashley Snaps” and “The Exorcism of Emily” trophies
  • Improved stability of the episode selection menu
  • Fixes to various bugs

While many on Twitter and Reddit are already complaining about the size (which for some people has taken over four hours to download) with comments saying that they might as well get a new game for that size, fans seem eager about what the update is fixing.

Fans seem most happy about the option to invert the Y-axis. Redditor CK_Prime commented:

“I”ll never understand how games still get released without the option to invert the axes.”

Redditor Cinderkin also commented upon his excitement about the inverted axises, expressing how disappointed he was that such an update had not come sooner and that he couldn’t wait to dive back into the game.

However, most are still complaining about the sheer size of the update:

What do you think of the update? Are you excited about the changes the update is bringing or are you mad about how large the update is considering there’s no new content to go with it? Be sure to let us know in the comments below!
