It seemed that the initial announcement of Cliff Bliszinksi’s new arena shooter LawBreakers was all we would get from the developer until the game had been more fleshed out. Fortunately, an official gameplay trailer has launched on the LawBreakers Youtube account for all the world to see.

The trailer has a similar feel and tone to the Unreal franchise that gave Blezinski his fame, but has a higher focus on specific character/class gameplay. Characters like the Assassin and the Gunner made a display in the trailer, which concluded with the groundstomping presence of the Titan class. Each character showed off abilities that are absolutely believable from their class titles, such as a sword/grappling hook combo from the assassin.

In interviews, Blezinski has emphasized his current infatuation with the eSport and FPS titan Counter-strike: Global Offensive. He has repeatedly said that the “easy to learn – difficult to master” mantra for the game has had a huge impact on his design philosophies for LawBreakers. In a way, you can already see that in the small snippet this trailer gives us.

LawBreakers, however, will not have to destinguish itself from Counter-strike, but from games of its own genre. The impending release of Blizzard’s Overwatch and Valve’s ever-popular Team Fortress 2 will have something to say about the newly founded Boss Key Production’s addition to the mix.

Which character from the trailer do you want to play as? Is there a specific class that you want to see in the final game? Let us know in the comments below.
