LittleBigPlanet Adds New Block Feature, Lets Players Ignore Trolls

LittleBigPlanet adds a block button to LBP.me so that users can ignore "problem players."

The developers of LittleBigPlanet have included a feature that has likely been long awaited by avid players and fans of the game.  Players now have the option to block other players if they are being irritating or generally just harming the gameplay experience. If one player wishes to block another they need to sign in to LBP.me and find the profile of the player they want to block. There will be a little red block button that the user will have to click. A player cannot post any comments or reviews on the user profile or levels of any player that has blocked them.

A strong feeling of community is important to a game like LittleBigPlanet.  In a game where users are allowed to create content, then have that content judged by other users, ideally everyone wants an overall friendly community.  A block feature will help keep many of the less pleasant players in line.

In modern gaming, trolls, griefers, and many other types of players with poor etiquette are inevitable. A block feature is something that many feel should be standard in any game with a heavy focus on online community. LittleBigPlanet has a good history of moderators punishing poor play, but in many cases players may appreciate the more immediate action of blocking a troll player and not having to deal with them anymore. While it would be wonderful if gamers could all just get along, the block feature should help the LittleBigPlanet community grow and prosper.
