Mass EA Layoffs – Everyone’s Most Hated Company in Trouble?

Everyone seems to hate EA, could it be finally getting to them?
This article is over 11 years old and may contain outdated information

Recently EA laid off around 10% of their global staff – around a thousand people. Along with losing their CEO in March this year and the recent controversy over Sim City, could this mean the company is in trouble?

Recently EA reported their financial results for the fourth quarter of 2012 as being a 19% drop from the previous quarter. Maybe losing The Consumerist’s poll for “Worst Company in America” two years in a row is starting to have some weight.

Personally I’ve only had bad experiences with EA, particularly their customer service, but then again, they do publish some awesome games. What do you think? Is EA as bad as people seem to be saying, or just another corporate giant out to make money in any way they can?
