Congratulations to Mortal Kombat X! Out of every game in the MK series, Mortal Kombat X has made the biggest splash, as it’s had the biggest launch in franchise history.
Creator Ed Boon thanked all the fans on Twitter:
We love that so many players want to play MKX and are working (like mad) on all the issues some of you are experiencing! We WILL fix them!
— Ed Boon (@noobde) April 16, 2015
He added that there were so many unexpected players on their mobile and console platforms that it crashed their servers.
Boone also went on to comment about the game’s issues, saying that they will be fixed in the future, and that the team behind MKX has been hard at work focusing on the problems.
Even though Mortal Kombat X was released on Tuesday, the entire series has been out since the early 90’s and since has sold about 35 million copies. MKX blew their last rendition of the series out of the water, as MK9 only sold about 4 million copies of the game.
Mortal Kombat X still has room to grow, as the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 versions of the game have been delayed until summer. The series has come a long way since its first installment, and players everywhere are rushing over to witness its fatalities in all its gore and glamour.
