NBA 2K15 Allows You To Scan Your Face

Now you can live your wildest NBA fantasies through your face!
This article is over 10 years old and may contain outdated information

2K Sports has revealed the ability to scan your face into the upcoming release of NBA 2K15. The above video shows off how the new feature works. Basically, you grab the camera of your console of choice and spending about 30 seconds slowly rotating your head left to right.

Though the video shows the game creating a remarkable likeness to the scanner, history has shown us that face-scanning technology in gaming is hit or miss…usually miss. They tend to range from looking nothing like you to being just slightly off enough to give you that unsettling feeling that only the uncanny valley can give.

Personally, I hope the face-scanning is incredible in NBA 2K15. That way I can finally live my dream of having my cat posterizing Tim Duncan and posting the footage on Reddit.

It’s almost time for Kevin Purr-ant to dominate the hardwood.

The face-scanning feature will only be available for the Xbox One and PS4 versions of the game. NBA 2K15 will be released on October 7th.
