New DLC for The Bureau: XCOM Declassified

I'm still not sold on this one. Will new DLC change that?

2K Games announced today that the first batch of DLC for The Bureau: XCOM Declassified is here! The DLC is set to give us a glimpse at life at the infamous Bureau before the invasion.

The DLC will feature previous secondary character Nico DaSilva rather than Agent Carter, as he undergoes psychic experiments in the mysterious Hangar 6 from which the DLC gets its name. His squad has also all been treated with a  strange new chemical to help them combat another agent dosed with the “Sleepwalker” pathogen. It will also give us a glimpse into what life was like at the Bureau before the invasion.

Lead designer HarleyWhite-Wiedow had a few things to say concerning DLC:

“We took this opportunity to create an entirely different kind of player character from Carter, but we focused on keeping that same cool 60s vibe – albeit, the slightly altered vibe of 60s psycho-dynamic experimentation…We did a lot of research on psychic and psychotropic military experiments of the 60s.”

Along with new powers and abilities, there will also be a new AK-47 and prototype Microwave Gun to add to your arsenal. The Hangar 6 R&D is an Xbox exclusive, and will be available on Oct. 8 for the super low price of $4.99.

Of course the bigger question is whether or anyone still cares, considering last time I checked the reboot didn’t exactly live up to hype, so only time will tell if the addition if this DLC will change any of that. Of course I still won’t touch it with a ten foot pole, but that probably shouldn’t slow you down any!

Is anyone planning on nabbing the DLC? Or am I still the only one who thinks it was pretty much impossible to create a shooting/strategy game that lives up to the XCOM name?
