Out of the depths of the Tokyo Game Show coverage comes more FF news, because obviously there can never be enough, right? Here’s a trailer demonstrating Square Enix’s next up and coming free-to-play smartphone title, Final Fantasy Agito.
Agito is meant to take place in the same world as Final Fantasy Type-0, a Japan only PSP title released over two years ago. Agito is meant to be an alternative retelling of Type-0 from the point of view of new player customized characters.
According to game director, Hajime Tabata, in a interview with USGamer, Agito will “definitely be localized” for Western players. But don’t get too hyped for it yet! Hajime made sure to clarify that while the game will be translated to other languages, that doesn’t exactly mean it’s a definite go on a North American release. However, a trademark for Agito was filed for in Europe, so keep your fingers crossed!
Final Fantasy Agito will launch as a free-to-play iOS and Android game in Japan this Winter.
