New Gaming Studio, Molten Games, Headed by Blizzard, SOE and Relic Former Execs

San Diego has become home to a new video game studio. Molten Games is a start-up studio that has garnered a great round of investment from NCSOFT, based out of Korea. Leading this studio includes former executives from several big name video game companies. These companies include:

• Blizzard,
• Sony Online Entertainment,
• and Relic Entertainment.

Meet the team

First in the line up, we have the Chief Executive Officer of Molton Games, Jungwon Hahn. He has previously held the position of former head of Blizzard’s Korean office. Next we have Chief  Product Officer, Paul Della Bitta. Prior to creating Molton Games, Bitta could be found as the global head of eSports and Community at Blizzard. Last but not least, the Vice President of Creative Development and Lead Designer is Blaine Smith. Smith has been employed in the past by both Sony Online Entertainment and Relic Entertainment.

What Can We Expect

Molten Games intends to focus on releasing AAA online games. Their starting platform will be the PC and the style will be Free To Play. By starting with PC, they leave their options open to cross-platform their games to the next-gen consoles set to release in November. Definite details on their first game have yet to be released.
