Ramping up for the upcoming release of the newest installment in the Wolfenstein franchise, Machine Games and Bethesda posted a new trailer for their alternate universe first-person shooter featuring about 30 seconds of gameplay action.
If you’ve not heard anything about this title, it’s set in the 1960’s. But, not the late 60’s as we knew them. In this universe, Germany developed the A-bomb first and used it. The Allies surrendered and the world kneels to Hitler. It’s now 40 years later as you step back into the combat boots of veteran soldier B.J. Blazkowicz and fight to bring down the Reich.
Unlike previous gameplay trailers, this one includes a lot of video that emulates Nazi propaganda movies from World War II, including images of what life in the 1950’s and 60’s could have been under their iron heel. It serves to framework the battle to come.
This is followed by very atmospheric cinematics from the game itself before shifting into third gear showing the frantic battles to come against various Nazi enemies; including machines out of some bleak sci-fi nightmare.
