Teams can race to the top 16 of the Ranked 5v5 ladder in League of Legends for the chance to compete at PAX or Gamescom for a guaranteed spot in next year's Spring Promotion Tournament.

The League of Legends League Championship Series is in full swing.  Everyone’s favorite teams have been playing regularly-streamed games for weeks, with some surprising upsets since All-Star week.  Riot’s system for the series is a great way of keeping players hopeful of joining the professional scene throughout the first half of the LCS, but now that we are entering the final stretch, there does not seem to be as much incentive for teams not already in the LCS to push themselves.

And then this happened…

Magus posted on the League of Legends forums about yet another chance for prospective teams to get in on the LCS action next season.  The top 16 teams in the Ranked 5v5 ladders in Europe and North America as of July 26th will compete in an online tournament for each region.  The top four teams in those tournaments will then be flown to compete live against each other, with the winning team in each four-team set being guaranteed a spot in the next Spring Promotion Tournament for their region, letting them battle directly to enter the LCS.

The North American teams will be sent to Seattle to compete live at PAX, while the European teams will settle their hierarchy at Gamescom in Cologne.  Ladies and gentlemen?  You have one month.  Good luck to you all.
