2K Games has just released a new trailer for Firaxi’s upcoming XCOM: Enemy Within. The game is an expansion pack for XCOM: Enemy Unknown, which will add new abilities, upgrades, weapons and a new soldier class that will be used to combat new enemy threats. The expansion will also introduce new multiplayer content, resources, maps, tactical, and new strategy to the gameplay.

The video focuses on EXALT, a rogue group that acquires alien technology to use for their own power. The trailer for the expansion seems to be very well done, what are your thoughts?

Release Date

The game is scheduled to release on November 12, 2013 in US and on November 15, 2013 elsewhere. It will be available for download for PC’s and MAC’s for $30 and in disk format for the Commander’s Edition for consoles for $40.

According to GamesRadar, Firaxi’s senior producer Garth DeAngelis told Joystiq last month that the new game was too large of a file for the console, so they couldn’t send it out as a patch. With this said, the only way they would be able to deliver the same content to console players is to have the expansion on a disk.

Although the game cannot be released as a patch, would you have prefered it to come out as a patch or as a disk? Why? Share your thoughts with us below!
