For anyone who hasn’t yet pre-ordered Fallout 4, take this recent bit of news into consideration. In Major Nelson’s blog, Microsoft has just announced that for a limited time, any purchase of Fallout 4 on the Xbox One will also come with Fallout 3— completely for free.
It doesn’t matter if you pre-ordered your game, bought it physically, or have a download code — everyone will have chance to return to the apocalyptic wastelands of Washington DC.
As said on the Major Nelson blog, this deal allows customers to directly compare the two games. It will highlight the major improvements made to Fallout 4, especially when it comes to V.A.T.S.
In Fallout 4, V.A.T.S. has been even more refined to work seamlessly with the shooting – not stopping time entirely, but slowing it down and flowing directly from the player’s other shooting. The difference in Fallout 4, too, is that using V.A.T.S. is limited by a rechargeable bar; you can only use it so often, but the good news is that you can choose when and where a critical hit will score, so it’s even more powerful than it used to be.
Even though this game will be able to be downloaded digitally to your Xbox One, there is still no news on whether the physical Fallout 3 disk from the Xbox 360 will be backwards compatible as well.
