In a nail-biting finish that had fans upping their pledges again and again, the Kickstarter for Alice: Otherlands hit its $200,000 goal with all the screeching might of Alice: Madness Returns’ Infernal Train just in time on July 15 – and then blew past it within the last 15 hours to reach $222,377.

But that was only the beginning.

Fans were greatly disappointed that the project was unable to reach the $250,000 stretch goal which is when Susie Brann (the voice of Alice) and Roger Jackson (the voice of the Cheshire Cat) from Madness Returns would sign onto the project. Thankfully, American was utterly unruffled and completely jubilant at the success of the Kickstarter, assuring fans that he was still in talks with outside investors that might help tip the scales.

Well, it looks like he didn’t even have to, at least as far as the voice actors were concerned.

Immediately upon closing of the Kickstarter, American opened up a PayPal store so that those who missed out on the original Kickstarter could still add to the pot – and pick up some pretty neat-looking stuff.

(DVD cover + proposed artbook interior)

As in the original Kickstarter add-ons, fans could pick up some pricey canvas prints and limited edition lithographs from the Otherworlds project as well as from Madness Returns. With stunning artwork from a variety of artists available and extra copies of artbooks and DVDs/BluRays at hand, it was no wonder that fans continued to pour more of their money into the project.

Without American’s mystery backers, the Otherlands project hit $250,000 by August 21. Susie and Roger are in!

All doors closing!

Even with new backers still coming in through the PayPal window, Kickstarter updates have warned that this will not continue for very much longer. To ensure that the Alice art will make it to the buyers by the holidays of 2013, the PayPal store will remain open until September 20, 2013 (three weeks today).

If you’re interested in buying any of the pretty artwork still up for show on the Kickstarter page, remember to head over to the PayPal store and pick them up soon!
