Overwatch’s Torbjörn Has A Serious Nerf On the Way

If an impenetrable wall of Torbjörn turrets have made you feel the sort of anger and despair that causes you to contemplate your existence, there’s great news for you. Well, for those of you who play Overwatch on a console. Responding to an anti-Torbjörn Reddit post, Blizzard’s Jeff Kaplan recently revealed plans to nerf Torbjörn’s mind-mindbogglingly overpowered turrets for the PS4 and Xbox One.

According to Kaplan, “in an upcoming patch, we will reduce the damage done by Torbjörn’s turret by 30% on Xbox One and PS4. PC will remain unchanged. ETA – Mid to late July depending on 1st party certification times.”

A major reason PC players will not be seeing the nerf is due to the inaccuracy of console players when compared to their sharpshooting keyboard and mouse wielding compatriots. PS4 and Xbox One controllers simply cannot match the accuracy a mouse provides. The pin-point accuracy of Torbjörn’s turrets allows the pint-sized death-dealer to dominate on defense.

Even though it will be at least another month, at least players know Blizzard is paying attention to the Overwatch community. There have already been tweaks handed to McCree and Widowmaker for PC, which will hopefully make their way to console sooner rather than later.

Personally, I’m just about fed up with seeing McCree casually stroll my way, knowing beyond a shadow of a doubt he’s going to deliver his Fan the Hammer coup de grace.
