For those of us who attend these events every year, the heart-attack inducing panic that we experience when waiting for PAX badge registration to open is intense. The feeling of being in the virtual queue, which is like a checkout line that works in a first-come-first-serve fashion is even worse.
This morning, three-day badges sold out in 45 minutes. While the days are still available individually, those who wanted to save a few bucks are out of luck.
In recent years, the rush to get those golden eggs–the three-day badges–has become monstrous enough to crash not only the PAX site, but corresponding hotel booking services. It really is a hot mess, and people are becoming more and more unhappy about it.
*sighs* System crashed out right as 3 day pass sold out. Now can’t get back in. Error 404. #paxeast

3 day passes are already gone for PAX East. And bundling single day passes comes to $45 more than a single 3 day pass. Fuck man. #PAXEast

3-day #PAXEast badges already sold out. Had to buy sets of FRI, SAT, SUN. I guess it’s costing me $120 instead of $75 to go this year!

May not get badges for PAX East. Got through queue, 3-days were sold out, now 404 when clicking through to buy one-days.

Anyone interested in reserving badges and hotels should do so here, if able.
