PAX East tickets went on sale on just under a day ago and, already, Saturday and three day badges are already sold out. According to the group’s Facebook page, three day badges sold out nearly instantly, despite the fact that the specific date and time the tickets would go on sale was unknown.
The convention, which will happen on the first weekend of March next year, is insanely popular for its relative age, with the first one occurring in 2010. In 2011, the second year of the convention, nearly 70,000 people attended PAX East; the numbers have only increased since then and the convention is only five years old! PAX, now known as PAX Prime, started only ten years ago, in 2004, and now has conventions in several cities: Seattle, Boston, and, Melbourne, Australia; the first PAX South, to be held in San Antonio, Texas, will happen next year, in January.
Though three-day passes and Saturday badges are sold out, Friday and Sunday badges are still available for $45.00 each. Badges are limited to four per day, per person, as to make it fair for all potential attendees and limit the prevalence of salpers looking to sell tickets for an exorbitant profit.
PAX East will take place in Boston at the Boston Convention and Expo Center from March 6 to March 8, 2015. Check out PAX’s website for information about guests and events for PAX East and future PAX conventions.
