Finally! PaxEast 2013 has arrived and I been looking forward to this weekend!  this is my second go around at this event and last year was a complete sensory overload for me.

This time I came prepare with comfortable shoes, a empty book bag (for all the free goodies), and my three day pass.

Now going on my 2nd day, I realized that this event is bigger and better than last year.  The games, both console and PC are amazing in scale.

The ones that have impressed me so far are the newer titles.  WildStar from Carbine Studios reminds me of Borderlands only hopped up on speed.  The game has a very fluid game engine and playing it is as addictive as it can get.

Another surprise game was Game of Thrones: Ascent. Now I know what you’re thinking: the last Game of Thrones game was a video game abomination. This it true but I think you should give this one a chance.  It is a Facebook game and does not pass it self of as action based but does have a great Game of Thrones feel to it.

The best game I saw so far from the big names was Saints Row IV by Deep Silver.  Two words for you: DupStep Gun.  It is definitely taking the crazy, insane game play from the first 3 games in the series to new levels and will not let the fans down.

I also found this site that I’m posting on right now GameSkinny.com.  I been looking for a new home to hone my gaming writing skills and I think I just found it!

The only let down to me was the give away bag.  Last year, I got a sweet Magic: The Gathering nap sack full of goodies like the PC game Rift, Microsoft 1 month cards and tons of cool posters.  This year it was a plastic bag full of advertising postcards and a wrist band. #EpicFail.

All in all I have one more day to go so I hope to see more from the the booths. Note to you guys: we gamers do have a short attention span so you better wow us or have great give aways.
