PC Gamers Can Pre-Load All 68GBs of GTA V This Week

Pre-load your GTA V on PC this week and have it ready to go by the time April 14th rolls around.

Grand Theft Auto V has already been released on Xbox 360 and PS3 since September 2013, and then again in November 2014 on Xbox One and PS4. The game has already broken sales world records, and it hasn’t even been released on PC yet… but the wait is almost over.

Rockstar has announced that they are going to allow pre-loads of Grand Theft Auto V because they want to be sure that everyone can have it ready by the time it comes out on April 14th.

The pre-loads will begin on Tuesday, April 7th.

Why so far ahead of the release date, you might ask? Well, a simple answer to a simple question: GTA V on PC will be running on 4K resolution and will be taking up… 65GB of space on your computer. Go ahead, do a double-take, it won’t change anything. The game already used up around 40GB of space on consoles, so with 4K on PC, of course it’s going to take up a lot of space.

Of course, even if you do pre-load the game and it’s already fully loaded before the release date, you won’t be able to play it yet. Gamers will have to wait for April 14th to be able to launch the game

Pre-loads will be available on Rockstar Warehouse, the company’s digital store, and on Steam (of course). For those who have pre-ordered the game at a different retailer, they should be able to give details about pre-loads through their sites, so normally nobody should be left out.
