Persona 5 Tactica revealed a new trailer at Nintendo Direct featuring some of the game’s gameplay mechanics. The tactical RPG features a new style for the series, using space based instead of its typical turn based mechanics. Persona 5 Tactica releases on Nintendo Switch, PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox Series X|S and Xbox One November 17 with preorders for available now.
Stumbling into a strange new world, the Phantom Thieves are met with new enemies. Members of the Legionnaires surround them, but they’re rescued by Erina, a revolutionary looking to end the tyranny oppressing the people of the land. Offering a deal in exchange for helping the Phantom Thieves, she joins the party and helps you escape.
The latest trailer shows off the games tactical battle mechanics, including space based movement and turns. There will be three attack choices you can choose from based on distance:
- Close up
- Distance
- Persona
The Persona attack lets you draw on the power of your Persona to deal massive amounts of damage. There’s also a combo All Out Attack, Triple Threat, if three of your units are placed on the board in a triangle. In addition to that, Persona’s can combine with Fusion, creating a new Persona.
What does Erina want with the Phantom Thieves and why does it sound like they’ve visited this land before? Is this a strange sort of Palace they’ve found themselves in or is this really a whole new world? Find out when Persona 5 Tactica releases. Until then, stay tuned for the latest updates with GameSkinny.
