Those who play the free trial will be able to carry their progress over once the free period is over. Over on Steam, the base XCOM 2 game is on sale for $14.99 (75% off) until May 7, while the XCOM 2: Digital Deluxe Edition, which includes the base game and the XCOM 2 reinforcement pack, is on sale for $18.74 (75%) until May 7 as well.

The XCOM 2 bundle, which includes the base game, the reinforcement pack, the resistance warrior pack, the War of the Chosen DLC, and the War of the Chosen tactical legacy pack, is on sale for $29.65 (78% off). That’s down from $132.95.

Unfortunately, it doesn’t look like XCOM 2 is on sale on Xbox One. It’s currently priced at $59.99.

If you’re looking for even more tactical, alien goodness, both XCOM and the just-released XCOM: Chimera Squad are also on sale on Steam. XCOM is currently $7.49 (75%) off until May 7, while Chimera Squad is presently $9.99 (50% off) until May 1.

XCOM 2 released for the PC on February 5, 2016. It later released for the PS4 and Xbox One on September 27, 2016. The game received positive reviews from both players and critics alike.

In our review of XCOM 2, we said that: “This isn’t just a great XCOM game: it’s a great game, period, and in a genre that doesn’t get enough love. If you’ve ever wanted to try a turn-based squad shooter – or if you’ve been trying to get your friends to try one – XCOM 2 might be your best opportunity yet.”
