As of today, indie publishing on the PlayStation Vita and devices supporting PlayStation Mobile has gotten a little easier. Sony have announced they will be waiving the $99 publisher license fee that previously stood as the thin wall between some developers and publishing on Sony devices.
The post on the PlayStation Mobile Developer Portal states this promotion will be going on until September 2. This date seems to have a relation to the PlayStation 4 release, as the date is stated to be flexible. One can assume the fees will be reinstated shortly before the PS4 launch.
For the next few months, even the most fresh indie developers can get their software up on the PlayStation Mobile store for virtually free along with the bigger-name indie titles.
Unfortunately, the only supported SDK for the time being is Windows-based. Indie developers working with a Mac or Linux SDK are out of luck for the time being. Check out the Dev Portal for more information on getting your game approved for PlayStation Mobile devices.
