Back when Pokemon Sun and Pokemon Moon were announced, we had confirmation that Pokemon Bank would not only be compatible with the upcoming games, but that we would be able to transfer our beloved Pokemon from Pokemon Red, Blue, and Yellow as well. The update was originally to be released in November alongside Sun and Moon, but was then delayed until January 2017.
Well… it’s January now, and we still haven’t heard anything about the update from The Pokemon Company.
Unless something else has come up, chances are that we’ll still be getting our update sometime this month. However, the question that comes to many fan’s minds is “when”.
Considering the virtual silence that The Pokemon Company has had about the update in recent months, I’m going to assume that the update will roll out sometime after the Nintendo Switch event on the 12th. If this turns out to be true, and the Pokemon Bank update is revealed during the event, I’m going to put my money on the rumors of Pokemon Stars being true as well.
In the meantime, Pokemon Trainers should invest their time in getting all their previous generations of Pokemon ready for the move into the next generation. If you don’t know how to prepare, then be sure to check out this guide on transferring your Pokemon from Generation 3 all the way to Generation 7.
Also, if you’re transferring up from Pokemon Red, Blue and Yellow, be sure to teach your Pokemon all sorts of cool moves they can only learn in that generation! Some cool examples include: Bubblebeam Articuno, Explosion Mewtwo, and Submission Raichu! If you want the full list of exclusive moves, check them out here!
Be sure to keep checking back for news of Pokemon Bank Sun and Moon’s eventual release!
