Pokemon Sword and Shield Gigantamax Machamp, Gengar Event Appears

The new Wild Area news is out now, and it introduces two new, rare Gigantamax Pokemon for a limited time.

We’re well into March now, and that means it’s time for Pokemon Sword and Shield‘s Wild Area to get another shuffle. The Gigantamax Toxitricity event is over, and in its place is a brand-new event featuring hard-to-find Gigantamax Pokemon: Machamp and Gengar.

The event runs through March 25, and it’s kind of a big deal. While these two Gigantamax ‘mon aren’t event-exclusive like Toxitricity was, there is something else special about it.

Normally, Gigantamax Machamp and Gigantamax Gengar are exclusive to Sword and Shield respectively. However, you’ll get a chance at both during the special events. As is the case with these special offerings, you’ll also have a chance to find them in Dens they aren’t usually associated with as well.

Unlike the Toxitricity event, which featured a handful of other Gigantamax Pokemon alongside the main attraction, this event only has one extra Gigantamax Pokemon available: Snorlax.

That’s good news if you missed the big boy’s own event at the start of the year, and bad news if you end up finding just Snorlax in your Dens the whole day because Machamp and Gengar are still fairly rare pulls. If so, there’s always the next day, so don’t be that person with your Dens.

Finally, you’ll have a greater chance of running into the pre-evolved versions of each Pokemon, including Munchlax, during the event.
