Pride Month is the perfect time to treat yourself to new gaming merch, especially when the profits go towards a good cause. Although the companies and games that are featured in Pride merchandise vary, there are generally a lot of fun options. This year, Poppy Playtime celebrates Pride with a Smiling Critters charity shirt.
Poppy Playtime: Grab a Smiling Critters Charity Shirt for Pride
Poppy Playtime’s official store is now selling a charity shirt for Pride Month that features the Smiling Critters’ rainbow colors. Not only is this shirt festive and adorable, but the profits made from it are being donated to the Trevor Project. This shirt will be available throughout the month of June, so you have a few weeks left to grab it.
Who Are the Smiling Critters and What is the Trevor Project
The Smiling Critters make their first appearance in Chapter 3. Although they were once orphans in the care of Playtime Co., they ended up forcibly turned into toys like many others. Specifically, the Smiling Critters were plushies sold to help parents take care of their children by performing functions like helping the children go to sleep, which was CatNap’s purpose. When you arrive at the Playcare, CatNap is an enemy you’ll encounter multiple times. And his sleeping gas adds a few nightmares to your time there.
As for the Trevor Project, this charity focuses on suicide prevention for LGBTQ+ young people. They have trained counselors available for help 24/7, and they help educate others about the challenges that members of the LGBTQ+ community face. While their mission is to end suicide among LGBTQ+ young people, they also work to help them find and build safe, accepting communities. Overall, it’s a great charity to support during Pride Month (or any time of year).
