It turns out that those of you who bought a Nvidia Shield can now buy and play Portal and Half-Life 2 on Google Play for $9.99.
The Nvidia Shield has a Tegra 4 processor which features a 72-core Nvidia GeForce GPU and a quad-core ARM A15 CPU both of which give you high quality graphics without compromising battery life. There is also a console mode which will allow you to play on your TV by syncing a bluetooth controller. The Nvidia Shield will cost you a cool $200, but with all its additional features it seems like a worthy price.
I’m not a huge fan of handhelds, but the Nvidia Shield looks quite promising, especially since you can stream your PC games to it, as well as music and movies. The main issue I have with handhelds is that they are too small, and have small screens. My eyesight is not very good, and I have sausage fingers, but since you can play the Nvidia Shield on a TV that solve’s my problems.
Do you have a Nvidia Shield, if so will you be picking up Portal and Half-Life 2?
