What initially sold me on Watch Dogs is a 17 minute gameplay/walkthrough video where you watch protagonist Aiden Pearce show off all the things that are going to make this game great. Today, Ubisoft launched its latest Watch Dogs trailer and announced its release date—November 19 on all current generation consoles, and will be available at the launch of the Playstation 4.

What looks interesting in Watch Dogs is the combination of melee violence and the hacking component, hopefully a large enough part of the game to justify the tagline “hacking is our weapon.” The trailer shows Aiden Pearce riding a motorcycle, attacking opponents with a crowbar, and using his hacking ability. The Ubisoft site says that you can use Pearce’s skills to “monitor and hack all who surround you while manipulating the city’s systems to stop traffic lights, detonate gas lines, turn off the electrical grid and more.” The trailers also promise a great deal of action and you can see Pearce in melee combat as well as gun fights.

You can pre-order the game now on Amazon and other sellers, and it will be available for Playstation 3, PC, Xbox 360 as well as Wii U.
