The Marvel vs. Capcom series gets all the love out of the vs. series Capcom puts out. Tatsunoko vs. Capcom is hardly talked about nowadays and Capcom vs. SNK fell by the wayside. Until now.
Capcom vs. SNK 2 has been redone as a PS2 classic title. Once it comes stateside, you will be able to play as your favorites from the franchises of both companies.
Capcom vs. SNK 2 and Capcom Fighting Evolution are already released on the Playstation Network in Japan. Capcom, via Christian Svensson, has stated that the time of release will be much different than Japan’s and that news will come in the next year.
This is exciting news for fans of this vs. series as it hasn’t received much love in recent years, despite retaining a pretty large following. Hopefully if this sells well, Capcom and SNK can get to work on producing a new title. Maybe this time they’ll actually make a new sprite for Morrigan, but I doubt it.
