Rare Replay’s Achievement Score has a Catch

Rare Replay's achievement score has a slight catch to it's impressive 10,000 gamerscore points.

If you thought you were going to earn 10,000 fresh points for your achievement score, you may want to think again. According to Rare’s Jason Thomas, the Rare Replay Collection will link to your Xbox 360 releases of Rare classics, meaning if you earned them before, you can’t re-earn them. This doesn’t mean you won’t be able to acquire all 10,000 points, it actually means you’ll have a slight advantage if you’re racing your friends to get them all first. This also means that any bonus content that came with an achievement will also become available right away.

Slightly Disappointing

While I’m okay with this decision, I’m also disappointed considering that some of the classic games’ achievements weren’t exactly thrilling. Banjo Kazooie for example, has only 200 gamer points, and none of the achievements are for collecting all the jigsaw pieces. I was hoping for harder achievements from these games.

Slightly Exciting

While the previous game achievements won’t be as thrilling, the new ones will be. I’m already making it a personal goal to collect all the achievements for Conker’s Bad Fur Day. Also, you can expect other games to have slightly more achievements per game due to the low achievement score that the already released classics had. It’s also important to note that your saves will carry across to Xbox One as well, so if you don’t want to have to replay the game all the way through, you don’t have to. Rare Replay releases August 4th.
