The Pokémon official web site has recently announced that registration for its Little Cup tournament has opened. A tournament for only first-stage Pokémon, the Little Cup will be taking place on Friday, May 22 (12 a.m., midnight UTC) until Sunday, May 24 (23:59 UTC).

To register, players must have a Pokémon Trainer Club account, their own copy of Omega Ruby & Alpha Sapphire (the most recent games in the series), and a party of eligible Pokémon. The “fast-paced” event sets up certain requirements. These requirements are:

  • All Pokémon entered must be in their first stage of evolution.
  • All Pokémon must be able to evolve. Pokémon incapable of evolving (like Kangaskhan, Dunsparance, or Smergle, for example) cannot be entered into the competition.
  • Pokémon that have already evolved cannot be entered.
  • The entries must be found, caught, bred, hatched, or specially received in Gen VI’s X & Y or in the Gen III remakes, Omega Ruby & Alpha Sapphire, to eligible.
  • And if the entries are over-leveled, they will be downlevel to Level 5 for the duration of the competition.

There is a first-come, first-serve basis to this event. Only the first 50,000 applicants will be able to participate in the 3-day event. If they make it into the competition and earn a place in the battle rankings, participants get 1,000 Poké Miles to use in the PokéMileage Club on the Global Link.

There’s only a week left in registration, so get those Pokémon into gear and be one of those special 50 thousand participants!
