Relive The Game & Watch Days Without Going Broke!

You can now play various Game & Watch and other LCD games in your browser!
This article is over 11 years old and may contain outdated information

When I was a kid there were two things I really, really wanted: The King’s Castle Lego Set and the Zelda Game & Watch. I was always told “maybe next time” but I really knew that day wouldn’t come because they were expensive back then. Nowadays they can be found listed on eBay between $200.00 to $300.00 USD in mint condition.

Let’s just say I gave up buying them long ago once I saw those prices, but now it seems I’ll be able to enjoy at least one of them! Hipopotam Studio, a graphic design team based in Poland, have created a little digital museum set up to relive those classic games from childhood right in your browser.

Finally! You shall allude me no longer!!

Their impressive selection ranges from classics such as Donkey Kong and Octopus to Bartman and The Terminator. Each game is faithfully created so the experience is as close as possible to the original. The site unfortunately doesn’t have Mario Bros., Sonic the Hedgehog or Ghostbusters, but here’s hoping someday we’ll be able to play those as well!

Are you one of the lucky few that owns a Zelda Game & Watch? What are some of your favorite old LCD games? Let me know in the comments below!
