Resell Downloaded Games

You heard me right.

If you live in the a European Union state (which there are quite a few) legally you can sell the digital versions of games you have bought from places like Steam and Origin even though you sign an agreement to not do that very thing.

This is coming from an article posted on eurogamer.net and they do a pretty good job translating the legal side of everything but I will dumb it down a bit more.

In a nut shell:

If you bought a game from a digital service and no longer want it, you can resell it to someone else.  You TECHNICALLY own the rights to that copy and can distribute it to whomever you want.  However, once that game is transferred or in the hands of another owner, you must never use your copy or make your copy inactive.  Only one person can own and play this copy at a time.

According to Eurogamer, there has been no statement by Steam or EA as of yet on this matter.

Check out Eurogamer for more and you bet I will be keeping an eye on this matter as well.  I can almost picture the EA lawyers screaming when they get the news.
