Capcom released a new Resident Evil 8 (Village) trailer highlighting Ethan Winters’ impending nightmare. The trailer shows some of the bizarre things awaiting Ethan and Chris Redfield where the line between reality and fiction starts to blur.

Resident Evil 8 picks up where Resident Evil 7 left off and follows Ethan and Mia Winters in a mysterious new village where nothing is as it seems.

Stories from the village’s past come to life. Strange rituals, terrifying monsters, and witches abound, alongside village people who’ve probably married each other a few too many generations for comfort.

There’s some link between what Ethan sees and the story Mia reads, but whether Ethan’s senses tell the truth is less certain.

While Ethan encounters plenty of new characters in Resident Evil 8, Capcom said the village itself is one of the main characters. It’s full of mysteries and terrors of its own, and Ethan will have to plumb its depths to uncover the truth.

Resident Evil Village is set to release sometime in 2021 for PlayStation 5, the Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S, and PC. Stay tuned to GameSkinny for more Resident Evil Village news as it develops.
